To complete the MITx MicroMasters Program in Data, Economics, and Design of Policy (DEDP) and earn the MicroMasters Program Credential, a learner must earn the Course Certificates for five DEDP MicroMasters courses corresponding to one of the two DEDP Program Tracks, as follows:
How To Earn the DEDP MicroMasters Program Credential
Once a learner earns the final Course Certificate they need to complete the DEDP MicroMasters Program on one of the two Tracks, they will automatically receive that Track's DEDP MicroMasters Program Credential. Learners who complete the requirements for both Program Tracks will receive the Program Credentials for both Tracks.
A learner who has already completed one of the Program Tracks and wants to complete the other only needs to earn the Course Certificates for the Elective Courses from the other Track. The Core Courses do not need to be repeated.
How To Earn a DEDP MicroMasters Course Certificate
To earn the Course Certificate for a DEDP MicroMasters course, a learner must do all of the following:
- Enroll in a session of the course
- Submit payment for the course session before its Payment Deadline
- Sit for the course’s Proctored Final Exam
- Achieve a high enough Total Course Score (combined Coursework and Proctored Exam Scores) to meet the course's passing score
Once these requirements are met, the learner will receive the Course Certificate! For more details about earning DEDP MicroMasters Course Certificates, see this FAQ article.
Special Notes
Legacy DEDP learners who earned the Course Certificate for 14.009x Good Economics for Hard Times before the launch of the two DEDP MicroMasters Program Tracks in September 2023 may still count their completion of 14.009x towards completion of the International Development Track, even though that course is now part of the other Track.
