You can access the MITx Online Learning platform, and the programs and courses offered on it, on both computers and mobile devices—but we generally recommend accessing it from a device running a non-mobile operating system. The platform is not optimized for viewing on smaller mobile devices, and some functionality may not be available on mobile operating systems.
Supported Browsers
No specific web browser is required. Courseware can be viewed on most modern browsers, but we generally recommend one of the following current browsers:
- Chrome (version 100 or later)
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari (version 15 or later)
- Chrome for Android
- Safari for iOS
To ensure the best performance and experience, ensure your browser is updated to the latest version
Troubleshooting Browser Problems
If you encounter issues while using the Courseware like missing form fields, malfunctioning buttons, or problems with page display, they are usually related to your browser. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot—and hopefully resolve—this type of issue:
- Restart your device: Completely restart your computer or mobile device, using the "Restart" option. This might sound simple, but restarting your device is actually the fastest and best way to resolve most issues!
- Ensure you're running the latest version of your browser: Check your browser to see if any updates are available. You can check if any updates are available from within the "Settings" or "Preferences" menus of most modern browsers. Keeping your browser up-to-date helps ensure compatibility with the learning platform, and also helps keep your device secure!
- Check your browser settings: Ensure that both JavaScript and cookies are enabled in your browser settings. Some course features rely on JavaScript, and cookies are used to remember your preferences and login information across the platform.
- Clear your browser cache: Clearing your browser's cache can often resolve persistent problems with platform access, display, and loading. The steps for clearing your browser cache vary, depending on the specific browser you're using. You can find instructions for the two most-used browsers, Chrome and Firefox, at the links below (instructions for other browsers can be found via web search):
