Screenshots can be a useful tool for communicating with MITx Online support or sharing your progress with employers, schools, or others. The process of taking a screenshot varies depending on your computer or device. Here are instructions for capturing screenshots on some of the most common systems:
PC:
To capture the active window, press Alt+PrtScn (On some machines, you may need to press Fn+Alt+PrtScn).
Mac:
To capture a portion of the screen:
- Press and hold the Shift, Command, and 4 keys simultaneously.
- Use the crosshair that appears to select the area you want to capture.
- Release the mouse or trackpad button to take the screenshot.
Linux:
Press Shift+PrtScn to select the area you want to capture. You can click and drag a selection box to specify what should be included in the screenshot. The captured image will be saved in your Pictures folder.
iOS (iPhone/iPad):
Press the sleep/wake button and the Home button simultaneously. Your iOS device will briefly flash white to indicate that the screenshot has been captured.
Android:
Press the Power button and Volume Down key simultaneously. Hold them until you hear an audible click or a screenshot sound, indicating that the screenshot has been taken.
