Many MITx Online courses offer a Verified/Certificate (Paid) enrollment track, which allows learners to earn a Course Certificate if they pass the course session. You must submit payment of the Course Fee to upgrade your enrollment to the Certificate Track.
You can upgrade to the Certificate Track at the same time as you enroll in a course session, or you can enroll in the course on the Audit (free) track first, and upgrade to the Certificate Track later
However, you can only upgrade your enrollment in a course session before its Payment/Verification Deadline. Once the course session's Payment Deadline passes, you will not be able to upgrade your enrollment in that session—you will need to wait for another session of the course to run, re-enroll in it, and submit payment to upgrade.
