The DEDP MicroMasters courses may be taken in any order. Which courses are right for you may depend on your existing knowledge and skills and your areas of interest.
In general, the DEDP team recommends learners new to the field begin with the required core courses 14.100x Microeconomics and 14.310x Data Analysis for Social Scientists, as they will form a helpful foundation for the other DEDP courses. However, learners may choose to begin with elective courses if they are prepared to do so.
If you are unsure whether you are prepared for one of the Advanced electives, we recommend that you take an Introductory elective course first (listed below). Please note that not all DEDP courses are offered in every DEDP term. For a schedule of DEDP course availability, please refer to this FAQ article and/or the DEDP News & Course Dates page.
For both types of electives, you should review the course page and the course preview to determine which courses best fit your needs and interests. For more information, please refer to this FAQ article.
